In March of 1995, Smolen  Emr + Associates Architects was awarded a contract for Indefinite Delivery A/E Survey, Design and Construction Administration Services for USPS facilities in the Washington, Metropolitan Area to include the areas of Washington, DC , Baltimore and Northern Virginia. The initial contract period was two years with three one-year renewal options. We received 24 work orders comprised of either new facilities or renovations of post office facilities. As part of this contract, this firm was awarded five projects to survey facilities in four regions (Southern Maryland, Baltimore, Columbus OH, Philadelphia PA) in preparation for their nationwide Project Fix-Up of every postal facility in the United States.
