The Aquatic Center will be a 41,000 s.f. state-of-the-art facility that will include a 10-lane, 50-meter pool with diving well, therapy pool, leisure pool area and spa. Support facilities will include both wet and dry meeting areas, locker rooms, offices and an exercise room.
The pools will be enclosed with an aluminum long span structural bent system to support a roof comprised of translucent insulated panels. The roof will incorporate multiple openable panels to take advantage of free cooling when available. The environment will otherwise be conditioned with multiple HVAC/dehumidification units. The adjacent two level conventional structure provide support spaces for the natatorium. The upper level is the main entry level and houses two administration offices, multi-use activity/exercise rooms, and access to a spectator mezzanine gallery. The lower level is at pool deck level and contains a “wet” meeting room and aquatics support areas including: lockers, showers, and toilet rooms.
